Chapter Summary

I see several things in these passages. One day we will be tested. It is our faithfulness to God during times when we are surrounded by the enemy. Times when it seems we are surrounded by evil. The King was looking for children in whom there was no blemish. Our heavenly Father is also looking for children who are purifying themselves and one day he will present us "to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish" Ephesians 5:27. The enemy of our soul desires that we would learn his tongue. From birth, he constantly tries to get us to speak his language. But we must learn the tongue of the Father - THE WORD. How often does the enemy attempt to persuade us with the things of this world? But we must not set our appetite upon them. "Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat. Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom" Proverbs 23:3-4. In the times we live in, most people think that because we don't partake of the world's ways or speak like the world, that we are less than. But if we trust in the Lord with all of our heart, He will sustain us. We shall come forth as GOLD. "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold" Job 23:10. You will also notice that the enemy changed the names of the Hebrew Children. The enemy attempts to name us something that we are not. We must remember who God says we are and stick with that. Refuse and reject anything that the enemy attempts to name you. We are not to defile ourselves with the enemies goods. When dealing with the enemy, we must remember that it is not those people around us but the spirits behind them. Daniel was respectful to the prince of the eunuchs. He allowed God to show the Eunuch what God can do. He didn't just refuse, but he asked and gave God the opportunity to glorify Himself. God gave them all the knowledge, skill, learning and wisdom that they needed even in dreams and visions. They found favor with the king all because they were faithful to the King of Kings.
